Quick Start Guide

  • Get access: Current instructors and teaching assistants are given access to Starfish automatically through LionPATH. For other roles, you may need to request access.
  • Learn the basics of working with Starfish (for faculty and staff)
  • Set contact and profile information: By setting up your Starfish profile, you can show students how you prefer to be contacted. You can also set how often you would like to receive communications from Starfish.
  • Complete progress surveys: During the fall and spring semesters, current instructors of full-semester undergraduate courses are asked to provide students with holistic early and mid-semester feedback. Using Starfish progress surveys, you can reinforce course expectations with students and alert their larger Success Networks to concerns that may be impacting students in multiple courses.
  • Document academic advising : Starfish is the system of record for all academic advising documentation. Faculty with advising responsibilities should use Starfish to document recommendations, policy interpretations, and outreach to students.
